What is the overall process for ordering memorial jewellery?Once you’ve selected a design, you need to decide on a colour. Without the listings you will find three different colour charts. Each chart is selected to suit that particular design although it is possible to use other colour charts in some instances. The shade of the colour can vary slightly depending on the colour of the ashes. During checkout you will need to select or enter your chosen colour and enter the name of the ashes (this is the name of the deceased, needed for the Ashes certificate). When you have completed checkout you will need to send the ashes to our studio. All details are given on the order confirmation page and in the confirmation email that you will receive (please check spam/junk folders). We will need approximately one teaspoon measure of ashes per item ordered and they will need to be placed in a secure sealable bag and taped for extra security. The postal service you use is your own preference. Tracking will ensure you know where the ashes are at all times although a 1st Large Stamp (UK customers) will still mean the ashes should reach us without any problems. When we receive the ashes we will inform you to put your mind at make a start on your order. Our aim is to despatch orders within 5 - 10 days of receiving the ashes. Orders are sent via royal mail using a tracked service and takes around 1 - 3 days for UK delivery and up to 8 - 10 days most other locations. Along with your order we send a little keepsake and any remaining ashes.

How do I choose a colour? Each listing has a colour chart attached for you to choose from. You will find two colour charts that contain opaque colours. This occurred because we tried to switch to new opaque colours but previous customers still wanted to choose from the original set of colours so we ended up with two sets of opaque colours and these can be used in most designs. We also have 'Gem' style colours that are transparent and show off the ashes really well. They also look great with opal glitter flakes. If you want to use a colour that isn't attached to your chosen design listing then please ask and we will let you know if it's suitable or not.

Do I need to know my ring size? Each listing will tell you if a ring design is a wrap ring, adjustable or solid backed. WRAP RINGS Wrap style rings, wrap around your finger and therefore one size fits all so you don't need a ring size for them. You simply size it to your finger and it will stay in that size. Wrap style rings are prone to catching and are suitable for occasional wear. ADJUSTABLE RINGS Adjustable rings have a interlocking adjustable band that you size to your finger but you do need to be careful not to catch it on anything as it will bend. SOLID BACK RINGS Solid back rings are fixed sized rings that require your specific ring size. If you don't know your ring size you select 'To be confirmed' to enable you to continue with your order. You can then purchase a ring sizer with your order and it will be sent straight out to you before making the order

What quantities of ashes are required? For single purchases I ask for approximately 1 teaspoon measure. I can work with smaller quantities if required. For orders of two items or more I require 1 teaspoon measure per item ordered. For orders of more than six items, we will need to agree an amount depending on the number of items. All ashes and fur/hair are treated respectfully and handled carefully. Any remaining materials are returned to you with your order.

How will my ashes look? This is very difficult to predict. All ashes come in different shapes, sizes and colours so the final look of your handmade memorial items depend on the ashes themselves. The techniques used during production are designed to achieve the most attractive outcome for the given ashes.
-
Will my order look the same as the photographs in the listings? The ashes portion of your order can differ from the photographs in the listings. This is because ashes come in all shapes and sizes with varying colours too. Sometimes bigger ashes will be present but if the ashes are fine you will barely see them at all. There is a good selection of various types of ashes throughout our listings which will give you a good idea of how your piece could look. If you're looking for a specific style then please let me know when you order otherwise, I allow the ashes to present themselves as they wish.
-
Can I use more than one set of ashes, hair or fur?Yes! Some of our designs have two parts and are perfect for two sets of ashes, hair or fur. We can combine multiple sets in one stone too.
-
What if there are left over ashes?Any ashes that are left over after making your order are returned to you with your order.

Do you have any advice on looking after my memorial Jewellery?Resin jewellery is pretty hard-wearing but to get the best out of your pieces and ensure they last a lifetime please adhere to the following advice. This will keep your pieces looking their best. Water Do NOT submerge your jewellery pieces in water. Resin isn't waterproof, only water resistant. So please remember to remove your jewellery before showers, swimming, washing up etc. Water will cause blistering and yellowing and will generally dull your piece. Sunlight Store your jewellery in the presentation box it came in with the lid on, out of direct sunlight. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause the resin to discolour (yellowing) and soften or bubble. Chemicals Avoid exposing your jewellery to harsh chemicals and cleaning products. This includes perfume, hair spray, cleaning solutions, nail polish remover, antibacterial hand sanitiser etc. Solvents will react with the epoxy and cause it to become scaly, yellow, chip or break down completely. Scrapes Try to avoid bumping and scratching or sleeping in your resin jewellery. This could damage your jewellery piece. If your piece has an accident, pop us a photo and we will give you some advice. We can try to repair or recast for a fee, including pieces from other makers, so long as the resin has not had a reaction to something. Smoking If your piece is in regular contact with smoke it will usually yellow. However, some of our smoking resin jewellery clients have worn their pieces for years without discolouration.
